What a Hybrid Pools renovation involves
A pool renovation with Adelaide Hybrid Pools can range from a straightforward vinyl liner replacement through to a full rebuild on the existing footprint. Most jobs combine several elements: a new custom-fitted Nylex Aqualux liner, updated coping and paving, equipment upgrades, and repairs to the underlying shell where required.
Because we use the same hybrid construction system for renovations as we do for new builds, we can also reshape, resize, or add features like bench seats, swim outs, and water features during the process. If your existing pool has reached the end of its serviceable life, a full rebuild on the existing footprint is often faster and less disruptive than demolishing and starting from scratch.
Our 12-year liner warranty applies to renovation liner replacements, and we handle the full scope in-house, from excavation and plumbing through to coping, paving, and commissioning.

How we renovate your pool
From your first enquiry to swimming in your renovated pool, this is what to expect.

Enquiry and site visit
We come to your home, inspect the existing pool, and talk through what you want changed. We help you work out the right scope for your budget and timeline.

Scope and quote
We put together a detailed scope covering liner, shell repairs, coping, paving, equipment, and any add-ons. You get a fixed quote with no surprises.

Approvals and preparation
Most renovations do not require council approval, but we handle any that do. We book trades and schedule the work around the season.

On-site works
We drain the pool, complete any structural work, fit the new liner, install upgraded equipment, and finish the surrounds. Most renovations are back in use within 1 to 3 weeks.

Handover
We commission the equipment, walk you through the new setup, and the warranty starts from day one. Our support continues from there.

Frequently asked questions
Do you renovate concrete pools?
Yes. We can convert old concrete pools to our hybrid vinyl-lined system by installing structural steel wall panels and a custom liner inside the existing shell. It is often more cost effective than re-tiling, and gives you the soft, low-maintenance finish of a vinyl-lined pool.
How long does a pool renovation take?
Liner replacements typically take 3 to 5 days on site. Full renovations with coping, paving and equipment upgrades usually run 1 to 3 weeks. Full rebuilds on the existing footprint take 2 to 4 weeks.
Can you change the shape or size of my pool during a renovation?
Yes, where the renovation scope allows. If we are rebuilding or doing major structural work, we can extend, reshape, or change the depth of the pool as part of the project.
What does a liner replacement cost?
Liner replacement costs depend on pool size, access, and the condition of the underlying shell. Get in touch with your pool dimensions and we can give you an indicative price.
Do you work on above ground pools?
We do not renovate above ground pools, but we have completed many projects where an old above ground pool is removed and replaced with a new inground hybrid pool.
How long does a new vinyl liner last?
With proper water chemistry, a quality vinyl liner lasts 15 to 20 years. Our Nylex Aqualux liners are backed by a 12-year warranty.
Can you upgrade just the equipment on my existing pool?
Yes. We regularly upgrade older filtration systems, add heat pumps, install Pentair IntelliCenter automation, and convert pools to mineral or low-chlorine systems, independent of a full renovation.
Do you renovate pools in regional South Australia?
Yes. We regularly complete renovations in regional and rural SA in addition to metropolitan Adelaide. Get in touch with your location and we can confirm timelines.
