The Build method

What is a hybrid vinyl-lined pool?

A hybrid vinyl-lined pool combines three structural layers into a single engineered system. Reinforced concrete bond beams tie the pool to the ground at the base of the walls and at the top where the coping sits. Structural steel wall panels form the perimeter of the shell. A custom Nylex Aqualux vinyl liner, made to fit the exact dimensions of your pool, sits inside the shell and provides the watertight, swimmable surface.

This combination delivers the structural integrity of a concrete pool with the surface finish, flexibility, and customisation of a liner-based system. It's engineered to handle reactive South Australian soils and temperature swings without the cracking or spalling often seen in concrete pools, and avoids the shape and size limitations of pre-moulded fibreglass shells. Because every pool is built onsite, no cranes are required during installation.

The Nylex Aqualux liner is soft underfoot, with a waterproof compaction foam between the vinyl and the concrete steps for a luxury feel. It carries a 12-year warranty, is highly resistant to algae, and is recognised as the lowest-maintenance surface in the industry. When the liner eventually needs replacing after its 15 to 20-year lifespan, it can be swapped out in a matter of days rather than requiring a full pool rebuild.

Tied to structural steel wall panels for a stable, engineered shell that handles minimal ground movement.
Custom vinyl liner
Made to fit your pool exactly, in your choice of Nylex Aqualux finishes with a variety of colours available.
Built to any shape or size
Custom built on site, so length, width, depth and shape are designed around your specific needs.
Integrated bench seats and swimouts
Spa seats, bench seats, and swim outs can be built into the shell as part of the original construction.
Pentair IntelliCenter automation
Optional Smart pool control system, so you can manage filtration, lighting, and heating from your phone.
V-Lock hideaway skimmer lid
A clean, near-invisible waterline finish that removes the visual interruption of a standard skimmer lid.
Mineral System Low TDS Chlorinator and auto pH doser
Low-chlorine and mineral filtration options available for softer water, lower chemical use making your pool very low maintenance
Acoustic filtration box
Optional sound-dampened equipment housing for installations close to living areas or neighbours.
Nylex Aqualux vinyl has a 12-year warranty
Construction is backed by structural warranty on the concrete bond beam and steel wall components.

The Malibu Classique

The Malibu Classique is our signature pool shape and the most frequently requested configuration in our range. It has clean rectangular lines, an integrated bench seat, and is designed to suit modern Adelaide homes and courtyards. Every Classique design is still custom built on site, so dimensions, depth, and finish are tailored to your block.

HOW IT WORKS

How we build your pool

From your first enquiry to swimming in your finished pool, this is what to expect.

Enquiry and site visit
We come to your home to understand your block, your family needs, and what you want from the space. No pressure, just a conversation about whether a hybrid engineered vinyl-lined pool is right for you.

Design and quote
We work with you on shape, size, depth, equipment package, and finishes. Once you are happy with the design, we put together a fixed quote with no surprises.

Approvals and preparation
We coordinate full development approval through council and engineering certification, and book in the trades for the construction window.

Construction on site
Excavation, bottom bond beam, steel wall installation, plumbing, filtration and liner fit-out. Most builds are swimmable within 5 to 7 days of site work starting.

Handover
We commission the equipment, walk you through everything, you get a personal hand over on your equipment from the builder, and your pool is ready to swim in. Our warranty and support continue from there.

What is a hybrid vinyl-lined pool?

How long does construction take?
Most of our builds are swimmable within 5 to 7 days of site work starting. The full project timeline including approvals, surrounds, and landscaping will be longer and depends on the scope of the wider works.
Can you build on a sloping or difficult site?
Yes. Because every pool is custom-engineered on site, we can build into slopes, tight courtyards, and challenging blocks where pre-moulded fibreglass shells will not fit.
What shapes and sizes can you build?

Any shape, length, width, and depth. We have a range of standard configurations including the Malibu Classique, but every pool is built to suit your block and your needs. Why not design your own pool.

How does a hybrid vinyl-lined pool compare to concrete or fibreglass?
Compared to fully tiled concrete, hybrid vinyl-lined pools are faster to build, softer underfoot, and more forgiving on reactive soils. Compared to fibreglass, they offer full custom shapes and sizes rather than a fixed range of pre-moulded shells and no crane or delivery transport fees. What is the lifespan of the vinyl liner?
With proper water chemistry, a quality vinyl liner will last for many years. Liners are backed by a 12-year warranty, and when one eventually needs replacing the swap is a matter of days rather than a full pool rebuild.
Do you replace liners in existing pools?

Yes. We replace tired or damaged liners in existing vinyl-lined pools across Adelaide and regional South Australia.

Do you build in regional South Australia?
